Leading up to the Homecoming football game and dance, CVHS students showed their pep by participating in the “Men in Black” themed spirit week the week before the game, Sept. 26 through Sept. 29.
Men in Black is a movie franchise, starting with the original “Men in Black” in 1997 up to the most recent addition to the franchise, “Men in Black: International” which aired in 2019. The plot of the first Men in Black movie was about a team of agents: “K”, played by Tommy Lee Jones and the new recruit “James Edwards”, played by Will Smith, who together must hunt down an alien race invading New York City and stop it from invading the rest of the galaxy. The theme for the spirit week was decided through a poll on Instagram and the Men in Black franchise won.
Throughout the week, each day would have a different theme. Tuesday, Sept. 26, was “Agents vs Aliens” day where upperclassmen wore black, like agents, and underclassmen were the aliens, wearing green. Wednesday was “Partner in Crime,” where students twinned with their friends! Thursday, students traveled back in time to the 90’s and 2000’s by dressing in the styles of the decades. Finally, on Friday, class color day and the big game day, Freshmen wore gray, sophomores wore white, juniors wore blue and seniors went back to black!
The Homecoming football game took place on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. It was a home game and we played Yorktown High School. Gooooo Wildcats!
The Homecoming dance was the day after the Homecoming football game, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. All grades were welcome, the dance had a photo booth and staff dressed up as aliens.
No, this wasn’t Area 51, but we saw plenty of aliens and agents on Tuesday!
On Wednesday we saw twice the fun from students and staff for Twin Day!
Did you know that most twins are left handed? Or that New Jersey has the highest amount of twins born in the U.S?
Throwback Thursday! Our school jumped back to the 90’s and 2000’s in honor of the original “Men in Black” premiere.
Our school finished strong on Friday by showing our school colors, Freshmen wearing gray, Sophomores wearing white, Juniors wearing blue and Seniors in black.
Keep it up Centreville!
