Disney and Pixar have recently released the new trailer and release date of the new “Inside Out 2” since the announcement of its making at Disney’s D23 Expo in 2022. The movie is said to be in theaters on June 14th 2024. The trailer shows us four new emotions, only giving us one of them: Anxiety.
The trailer consists of a quick review of the past movie’s happy memories until we see that Riley, the overarching protagonist, is now 13. After that clip, destruction takes over her control, or headquarters for the existing emotions. The workers of Riley’s brain come into headquarters and start demolition. Once the demo is over, the place is left a mess, and a new emotion appears, surprising the current emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear. The new emotion, Anxiety, mentions a few other new emotions but nothing else. “The new character promises to stir things up within headquarters,” says Disney in the new release.
The trailer has raised excitement within many fans of the Disney franchise and the first movie itself. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” director Kelsey Mann mentions in a statement. Such vagueness gives the audience much more excitement for the movie to come out. The release of the trailer has had the biggest launch than any other trailer, overtaking 2019’s Frozen 2 with an astounding 157 million views in just 24 hours.
The poster for the movie shows four new emotions. We know one of them is Anxiety but that leaves us with the question of what the other three emotions will be. The trailer gives us a range of new emotions and fans attempt to use those hints to find out what the other three might be. Even yet to be uncovered, the enthusiasm continues to roar.
