After the major success of the first Moana movie, Walt Disney is releasing another movie of Moana’s story—Moana 2. The trailer for the movie has been released and fans are already hyped.
Moana 2 is set to be released on Nov. 27, 2024. Moana 2 is a new upcoming movie produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Animation Studios. Dwayne Johnson and Auliʻi Cravalho are still voicing Maui and Moana.
Moana 2 will follow Moana’s journeys to the far seas of Oceania after receiving an unexpected call from her way-finding ancestors. From looking at the trailer, the animation looks great with the character design and the beautiful scenery of the shimmery ocean and tropical lands. It overall looks like it’ll be another successful Moana movie.
With the first movie being a major financial success, it was almost a no-brainer that Walt Disney would release the sequel to the first. If Moana 2 also becomes a major success, then there might even be a possible Moana 3 in the future that would result in another big gain for Walt Disney. The trailer alone was very vibrant in color for the scenery, and the animations with voices from Johnson (Maui) and Cravalho (Moana) imply a great adventure to come.
As said before, the animation looks great and very much colorful with a new plot filled with adventure. The target audience (children and/or families) will likely have pleased reviews on this new film. The first Moana movie was a major financial success that earned $687 million in the box office. “Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise,” said Walt Disney Chief Executive Officer Iger. “And we can’t wait to give you more of Moana and Maui when Moana 2 comes to theaters this November.” Johnson also expresses his enthusiasm for Moana 2. “It’s so much deeper of a movie to me, and it’s so much deeper of a movie to Disney as well,” he said. “We are so excited to welcome back audiences all over the world to a new adventure.”
