With Halloween upon us, watching horror movies is a wonderful way to partake in the night of monsters. We at the Centreville Sentinel, have 10 films we suggest for you to watch tonight or any other Halloween.

10. Gremlins

A sales representative is searching for a very late present for his child and discovers one at a store in Chinatown. The assistant is hesitant to offer him their “mogwai” however pitches it to him with the dire warning to never open him to bright light, water, or to feed him after 12 pm. this happens and causes a posse of beasts that tear up the town.

 

9. The Sixth Sense

Cole Sear is haunted by ghosts. Cole is frightened by these ghouls. He is too afraid to tell anyone about his anguish, except child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe. As Dr. Crowe tries to uncover the truth about Cole’s supernatural abilities, the consequences for client and therapist are a jolt that awakens them both to something impossible.

 

8.   The Babysitter 

In a Netflix Original, Cole stays up past his bedtime where he then discovers that his hot baby sitter belongs to a satanic cult that will stop at nothing to keep him quiet.

 

 

7.  Scary Movie 2

This film parodies famous Horror films such as The Exorcist and The Poltergeist in addition to modern films such as Charlie’s Angels and Mission Impossible.
6.  Jaws
When a young woman is killed by a shark while swimming near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper and grizzled ship captain Quint offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.
Respected medical lecturer Dr. Frederick Frankenstein learns that he has inherited his infamous grandfather’s estate in Transylvania. Arriving at the castle, Dr. Frankenstein soon begins to recreate his grandfather’s experiments with the help of servants Igor, Inga and the fearsome Frau Blücher. After he creates his own monster, new complications ensue with the arrival of the doctor’s fiancée, Elizabeth.

3. 1922
A rancher conspires to murder his wife for financial gain and convinces his teenage son to participate.
Physician Burt Stanton and his girlfriend, Vicky’s trip comes to a sudden halt when they find the body of a murdered boy in the road. In trying to contact the authorities, Burt and Vicky wander into a small town populated only by children, followers of a sinister young preacher. Soon the couple is fleeing the youthful fanatics, who want to sacrifice them to their demonic deity.

2 men wake up in a room chained to wall by the serial killer Jigsaw, in order to survive they must kill the other before time runs out.
