Carlos Deras was born in March, 11 2011 in San Jose, Costa Rica.  For 11 years, he was raised there by his mom and grandmother while his dad was living in the United States.

When he turned 12 he moved to Centreville, Virginia in January 2021 during Covid. He studied at Centreville Elementary School in 5th and 6th grade. After that he studied in Liberty Middle School. In 2025 he started High School at Centreville High School.

His goal as a writer is to express his ideas clearly and creatively, while improving his ability to communicate his thoughts in a way that connects with others. He wants to strengthen his writing skills so he can share his perspective, tell meaningful stories, and continue growing as both a thinker and a writer.

His goals as an aspiring journalist are to seek the truth, tell stories that matter, and give a voice to people and issues that are often overlooked. He wants to write with honesty, fairness, and curiosity while continuing to sharpen his skills so he can inform and inspire his community. He would like to inform about sports and athletes because he plays different sports.
