Sabella Mitchel, Staff Writer

Born in Panama City, Florida, in 2011, Sabella came to Centreville High School as a freshman in 2025. Although Centreville, VA, has become a stable home for Sabella, she has been to other parts of the country that were once her home, including Georgia, Washington, D.C, and Virginia (Woodbridge and Centreville).

Sabella’s goals for writing and for journalism are to create stories that reflect the people that she interviews. She hopes to write articles that are impactful for not only the school but for the Centreville community as well. She wants to be able to capture emotion and information in one article effectively for readers.

She has a passion for the French language and wants to become a pharmacologist. Both of Sabella’s parents are from the country Dominica, a Caribbean island located in the Caribbean Sea and Lesser Antilles. This country is known as the “Nature Island” due to its lush terrain and breathtaking waterfalls. The language of Dominica is Patois, which is a dialect based on the French language. This is the main reason why Sabella strives to do well in her French studies, so she can understand the country that she wasn’t born in.

She enjoys reading, writing, listening to a wide variety of music genres, and plantain chips.
