Recently the Disney World rules has been changing due to the misuse of disability access. Many people over the last five years have been using this access to their advantage to receive “special” treatment that includes cutting in lines. If this continues to happen, there could be a life ban for those caught lying to use this access.
Disney’s response to this included, “Disney is dedicated to providing a great experience for all guests, including those with disabilities, which is why we are so committed to delivering a wide range of innovative support services aimed at helping our Guests with disabilities have a wonderful time when visiting our theme parks.”
“The system has always had some level of questionable use, if not abuse,” Len Testa, president of the planning site Touring Plans and co-author of the Unofficial Guides to Walt Disney World and Disneyland, said in an email.
Many guests that actually are in need of this accommodation are worried about going to Disney and not getting the right treatment. One guest Stacey Crane says, “There’s so many other health issues that may be affected by this.”
