The Phoenix Suns basketball team franchise, established in 1968, has gone 5-3 so far in the 2019-20 NBA season. After beating the Sacramento Kings by 29, the Suns started catching hype from the media. The media said on social media that the suns are the playoff team with a dismal score of 19-63 last year. The NBA however immediately started testing the Sun’s players. Deandre Ayton Sun’s rookie has been suspended 25 games for failing his drug test after having a good game with 18 points with 11 rebonds.

The Suns have made big changes to their team in the off-season acquiring players, waving players and changing staff. They had the 6th pick which they traded with the Timberwolves. They drafted Jarret Culver while they traded away for the Timberwolves 11th pick Cameron Johnson. The Suns also fired their coach Igor Kokoskov and signed Mounty Williams who coached the Hornets and the Pelicans. In the 2019 NBA free agency, the team signed Ricky Rubio: a perfect piece to their puzzle. Ricky Rubio is averaging 13.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.6 assists while shooting 41% from the field goal. The Suns also signed Aaron Baynes, a center that is good at defense and has a 47% in 3 point shooting.

In the first weeks of the NBA season, the Phoenix Suns faced tough opponents. For their third game of the season, the Suns faced off the Clippers, and their 2019 Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, and emerged victorious with a score of 130-122 with Kawhi Leonard dropping 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists and Devin Booker dropping 30 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The Suns then beat the Warriors, Grizzlies, and the undefeated 76ers with Devin Booker dropping 40 points and Rick Rubio dropping 21 points.

If the Suns keep competing and push to win every game, they could be a playoff team. With the teams management and chemistry, the 2019-20 season could be their year because they have a lot of young all stars, media attention, and the mentality of the organization. The Suns have not been really good for the past 5 years and have been disappointing fans, but having a great season will be a great comeback for them.
