Dylan Layden was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and has been local to this area all my life. He spent his time in middle school at liberty, before heading to Centreville high school for high school. He wasn’t always a fan of reading, but did start to find journalism interesting around 9th grade. He’s currently a senior and has enjoyed his entire high school career at Centreville high school. He will definitely miss this school once he moves onto college.

The reason why Dylan started to enjoy reading was when he found out that there are many different types of writing, and it’s not all just the boring novels you read in English class.

His biggest goal as a writer and journalist is to make it enjoyable and spread information to a larger audience. This is his second year as a journalism student at Centreville high school, so he does have some experience in writing articles, but definitely has a lot of improvement that he needs to work on. Dylan makes sure to keep up to date on current affairs all over the world. His favorite topics to read about in the news are politics and the environmental sector, as he holds those two very close to his heart.
