Yvonne Kim

Yvonne Kim, Staff Writer

Yvonne was born in Centreville, Virginia, and she has been living here her whole life. She first came to CVHS beginning in the year of 2022 in the hopes of being a part of this journalism program.

Her hopes for being a writer are to leave readers with mind-gripping stories, learn more about the research process and learn valuable social skills that are involved with being a reporter, such as being nosy, asking questions, and making her interviewers engaged. Yvonne has had previous experience in the field of getting in on the action of school events, as she was a member of the yearbook crew; she had assisted in taking photos of events such as bingo night, basketball games and talent shows.

She hopes that she will be able to use these skills from photography and transmit it into her journalism career through learning to be more alert in the latest “hit news” and improving her news stories, such as headlines, in order to create more catchy hooks that draw in her readers.

She has always enjoyed writing, and she hopes through her works she will be able to inspire others to get into the journalism field as well. She looks forward to working in this program!
