Hiranmayi Bhargavi Bio Pic

Hiranmayi Bhargavi, Lead Arts & Culture Reporter

I am a student in Centerville high school and this is my first year taking journalism.

The reason why I took journalism was because I thought it would be a fun way to explore different career options. I have also always been really curious about how to write a good news article. In this class I like how we can explore topics that we are interested in. By the end of this class, my goal is to write a good persuasive article.

One thing I like to do in my free time is reading. My favorite genre of books to read are: mystery, especially murder mystery, and romance. My favorite books I have read are: “They Both Die at End” by Adam Silvera, “Five Survive” by Holly Jackson, “The Do- Over” by Lynn Painter, “The Reappearance of Rachel Prince” by Holly Jackson and the “Truly Devious” series by Maureen Johnson.

Another thing I like to do in my free time is art. I mostly paint, using acrylics, however I also explore different mediums such as color pencil, graphite, and oil pastels. Some of my favorite artists are: Mary Cassat, Valerie Lin, and Augusta Savage. I am excited to see what opportunities this class will bring this year.
