Emma Parkinson, Chief Copy Editor, Staff Writer

Emma was born in Ashburn, VA and became part of the CVHS community in 2022. Since then, she has enjoyed participating in school activities and challenging herself with hard classes.

As a writer, her goal is to sharpen her skills in storytelling and expression. She wants her writing to be engaging, thoughtful and a reflection of the perspectives and experiences that shape her. She wants to develop better interviewing skills and incorporate some means of polling and statistics into her articles. She wants to write stories that the students of CVHS will actually want to read.

In addition to writing, she is involved in class board, Student Advisory Council, and Wildcat mentors, which helps her bring diverse viewpoints and experiences to her work. As a member of the Student Advisory Council she will meet with students across the county periodically to talk about the issues the county faces. This will help her bring a new perspective to the Sentinel and give her topic ideas.

She looks forward to contributing to the CVHS community by sharing stories that matter to staff and students. She will work to make sure that the CVHS newspaper is interesting and thought provoking, with a mix of silly stories and important stories that everyone will want to read.
